Music Technology in the Classroom

Music Technology in the Classroom

Learning Objectives

At the end of the lesson, learners will be able to: (1) choose a digital tool that serves a specific musical objective; (2) run a simple recording or playback task in class; (3) explain when technology helps learning and when it distracts.

Lesson Discussion

Technology in the music room should solve a problem, not create one. Learners try three tools — a tuner, a recording app, and a simple notation app — and match each to a teaching situation. We discuss the realities of Philippine classrooms: shared devices, limited data, and power interruptions. The lesson ends with each learner proposing one realistic use of technology in their future classroom.
